Uses:
Taken raw as well as in cooked form, juice is a rich source of carotene and sometimes used in colouring butter and other foods.Black carrot is used for the preparation of beverages called kanji. Green carrot leaves are highly nutritive, rich in protein, minerals and vitamins and used as fodder and also for preparation of poultry fed.

Chantenay It is an excellent variety for canning and storage.
